Still here, Still Becoming

An Intergenerational Storytelling Experience & World AIDS Day Fundraiser

December 1, 2026 | Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs | Atlanta, GA

Every generation has stories to tell. Stories of resilience and resistance. Of love and loss. Of finding our voices, confronting our fears, and discovering the wisdom that comes from living, learning, and growing together.

In recognition of World AIDS Day, The Rustin Institute presents Stories That Sustain Us, an intimate and inspiring evening celebrating the power of storytelling to connect us across generations, identities, and lived experiences.

The evening will feature nine storytellers representing the rich intergenerational community of YOU(th) Belong, the National Youth Advocacy Corps (NYAC), Rustin Fellows, the Bayard Rustin Society, The Rustin Institute Board of Directors, and the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs.

Through personal narratives that are heartfelt, humorous, vulnerable, and transformative, our storytellers will remind us that the stories we share are more than memories. They are sources of connection, belonging, and inspiration. They reveal how we sustain one another through life's challenges, celebrate its triumphs, and pass along lessons that help future generations find their way.

On World AIDS Day, we gather not only to honor lives lost and celebrate lives lived, but to recognize the enduring power of community, compassion, and collective action. The history of HIV/AIDS reminds us that survival has never been an individual undertaking. It has depended on people showing up for one another, sharing their stories, challenging stigma, and creating communities of care.

Nine storytellers. Many generations. One shared humanity.

Join us for a night of connection, reflection, celebration, and generosity in support of The Rustin Institute's mission to cultivate the next generation of advocates and leaders for a more just future.

Rooted in Legacy. Rising Through Leadership.
